Got up this morning early and went down to meet a few others from the W@R riding group. First time I've met them, and as I was pulling up, I slowed to go over a speed bump, didn't downshift, and stalled it. Hoping noone would notice, I nonchallantly coasted to the nearest parking bay and put the stand down. Either they didn't notice, or were too kind and didn't comment.
We then road down Canning Highway, onto Great Eastern, and into Burswood, where we met up with the rest of the riders. Over 300 bikes on a WA Police organised ride. Harleys, Sports bikes, a buggy, and even a side car with dogs! We headed off, onto the Graham Farmer Freeway to then join the Freeway South. The sound of 300 plus bikes going through the tunnel was ... awesomely loud ...
After a minute though, I wished I had ear plugs.
Heading down the Freeway South towards Rockingham in a motorcycle convoy was an interesting experience. Especially as it was escorted by the police. It took a few times before I got used to seeing those blue and red flashing lights in the mirrors without panicking.
I managed to pull up behind the side car with the dogs for a while, and they were having a blast. One was a rotty, the other a ridge cross of some sort. Both had doggy goggles on! The rotty's were black framed, with silver reflective lenses - you could just see the "I'm cool" attitude oozing off him.
Once we reached Rockingham, we headed towards the Garden Island Naval Base, where we were escorted across the bridge - 318 bikes were clocked in. We managed to fill the entire causeway, from start to finish with bikes. The Navy had their airwing up and about taking some photos.
We went to a few different parts of the Island, saw a few boats and submarines, before ending up in the rec area for a sausage sizzle. I soon headed off to my future in-law's house in Rockingham to take advantage of their wood fired pizza oven. Mmmmm.
Somewhat heavier than I started, I made my way home in the early afternoon, in time to clean the rats cage, do a few other chores, then head over to my folk's place to show them

Home now, and feeling very lethargic and tired.
The Bad:

The Ugly:
I think I may be coming down with something. Got that horrid feeling in my throat and a general sense of tiredness.
Bleh.
When amar puts her hand on my head, her hand is cold. When she puts her hand on my back, her hand is warm. I'm not entirely sure how she does it, but it's a very ... interesting ... feeling. Especially when she moves her hand just a ......@$##@%NO CARRIER.
Glad I've got tomorrow off to try and recover, although it's tradeperson's day with electricians coming in to hopefully fix the fan and light in the lounge room.
